>>37560549Well, in seriousness I'd say that's on *your* perceptions then more than anything else. The thing that sticks out to me first and foremost is "hey, tiger mon" more than its wrestler gimmick and the only place I see the supposed personality complaint is here, especially when outside of this place M20 and the pokedex entries say it also acts ferocious in combat and haughty otherwise, as one would expect a tiger-based mon to. Meanwhile in the realm of fanart and other content over the course of the gen I've seen people make it act cute and cat-like, cool fanart of it being badass, and so forth. Certainly not conforming to the 'personality' that haters tend to froth at. In that sense, they ought despise Iris's Dragonite as well.
It also does strike me that it also ignores Torracat goes 180 from the calm persona of Litten and nobody complains, but if it was standing up on two legs it would be getting the same grief since it has a rambunctious persona more similar to the hammy one people dislike Incineroar for.
>>37560582Thread's probably gone now, but I just saw some surprisingly nice art of an Incineroar on four legs the other night in one of these kinds of threads (albeit it was "pro"-Incineroar). Otherwise I saw it as no worse than a Feraligatr with its exceptionally long arms and five-fingered man-hands going on four legs like in official TCG art. Are both of them exaggerated when on all fours? Sure - but it's Pokemon, where we have had official art of Charizard with its head as big as its body. People getting pissy on proportions always feels like a pointless issue.
>>37560621Honestly, I've been around since Gen 1 and I can tell you Charizard's definitely gotten a personality now of being a stoic badass thanks to the influence of Ash's Charizard. Meanwhile, if people really want to draw a happy or a angry Incineroar, so be it. If Dragonite can go from its stereotype to Iris's then I'm fine with a ferocious cat in M20 or SM Kukui's hammy show-cat.
