anything that barely changes, to the point where you won't even know if fanart is shiny or not because the artist can just choose to saturate/desaturate the base colours and end up accidentally making the shiny

Most of them are terrible but that isn't one beyond the ganja knight dragon design in general (which isn't technically terrible, just not a good as the gryphon it should've been after seeing the first stage).

Worst ones are the ever creepy alblueno Sylveon and any green ones. Particularly the dark green ones. Will always maintain Mega Charizard X should've been pic related. As it is, it's probably the most offensive one.

Many of the Gen 1 and 2 shinies changed between Gen 2 and 3.

Ponyta, for example, got better while Rapidash got worse. Ponyta was originally a reddish grey shiny which is obviously not as good as the current blue but Rapidash was a smoky looking purple. The current one is okay being a better done version of Ponyta's original Shiny colors looking more like straight up smoke but the purple was way cooler.

The Garchomp line in general, as well as any other shiny that looks the exact same (Elekid, Kanto Persian, Glaceon, Togekiss, etc..). At least ugly shiny Pokemon still look different somehow, and occasionally have entertainment value.

Some of these are pretty nice like Crustle, Bronzong, Kingler, Noivern, and Trapinch. But the super lime-colored ones like Ursaring and Stantler need to go.

My pick would be any shiny that's just the original but with (even more) unrealistic colors that don't work with the design at all. This ranges from Kangaskhan to Crobat to Zygarde. Kommo-o pulls it off because the combination of colors presents a good contrast and the big ornate scales and the way they're attached help sell the saturated hues.

The shiny should be the regular coloration and the actual shiny could be dark green or brown with gray replacing the red. The yellow stays.
