You're saying that as if Gen 5 didn't introduce the most min-maxed and centralising Pokémon. Shit like Ferrothorn, Volcarona and Excadrill still see a lot of usage. Not even going to bother mentioning the flying lion.

OR just give it reasonable stats to begin with that don't have to be gimped by an ability?! Why they do this. Especially being a fossil. I can't see any thematic reason why a prehistoric bird needs/has this gimmick of super high stats that get brought down for some reason.

All of these would be even better with more balanced stats. Very telling that you didn't bother mentioning Haxorus and Chandelure, who are way more min-maxed. Probably because they're not good mons, because GF gave them middling speed like everything else you listed.
