I loved ORAS on my first playthrough but don't like it now. I still love how they gave Wally his own area in victory road (as opposed to him getting shunted or just being a roadblock at the beginning), the little flair island they added to the cave of origin was really pretty too. The trick house theme remix was godlike. Being able to battle online with friends was fun too but that's not really of the merit of this game specifically so it doesn't really count.
Can't think of anything else off the top of my head that ORAS did better than the originals/emerald though :(
