>>37565168go back to what works. New kids, new digimon, explore concepts of computers and how they relate to real life connections.
They've lost sight of that and focused too much on trying to market so new evolution methods became the focus and thats not good enough. Then when the popularity dropped, they thought pandering to nostalgia was a good idea and they'd be extra clever by jumping ahead in time to account for the fact that the original fans are older but it still doesn't work because that's not what we want from digimon.
I don't wanna see old characters again, especially not in a major way, 02 proves that.
For what it's worth
adventure - 10/10. Focuses on characters, the digital world, and their relationships with their digimon and each other. Evolution and battles happen and are good plot drivers but not the sole focus.
adventure 02 - 6/10. Strong ideas for expanding the mystery of the digital world but poor execution, too much adventure 01 pandering which prevented the main cast from being the focus. Armor evolution was okay but ultimately pointless.
tamers - 10/10 arguably the best. New characters, new digimon, tackled the concept of loss and growing up in a more daring but realistic way. Digital world becomes more mysterious as the idea of a virus that becomes sentient is explored, and the new method of evolution (merging with digimon to become a mega) is a neat concept that ties in with the themes of the show. It's too bad the card shit wasn't executed better but they did fine with the usual marketing stuff so who cares.
