How did these absolute retards not know Pokemon came from eggs? How was this a new discovery? They've been living with Pokemon for thousands of years and had daycares and studying Pokemon, but it took until the time period of GSC to figure out where Pokemon come from?

Furthermore how were they running around with Magnemite and other Pokemon around them not knowing the Steel type existed? Or the Dark type? Or Fairy types in Mount Moon? Did the people in Kanto just never ever go to Johto to see these types before?
