>>37574578I spent a few hours running around the route, getting into the occasional fight. I'd seen a few wilds, but nothing was really standing out to me. I even ran all the way down to the Ice Path and stuck my head in, to see if that looked promising. I'm not really a big fan of the cold though, and a few minutes of shivering in the dark pretty much killed any interest I had in ice types. I decided to stick to the grass outside.
Eventually, inevitably, I found the third and most problematic member of my team. Lickitung. I had never actually seen one of these before, but he was so bizarre I immediately decided to catch him. The battle was a little surreal, since most of it was spent dodging away from an extendible, prehensile tongue, but we got him in the end. Farfetch'd and Girafarig seemed pleased enough to have a new friend, and after a quick run back to the Center to heal him up, Lickitung didn't seem all that bothered about being captured. He got more interested in the whole deal once I set out food for him. In fact, he got REALLY interested. He ate thirteen servings. I was still riding high from victory, so I just chalked it up to celebration and let him indulge. I had some money saved up, I could handle the cost. At first.
See, as it happens, Lickitung are big eaters. Normally it's not TOO bad, but my guy seemed exceptionally gluttonous. I eventually had the local nurse do a full checkup on him, just to make sure he was okay. He was fine, thankfully, but... did you know Snorlax and Lickitung can interbreed? I didn't. Apparently, my guy's father was one of those, and he seemed to have inherited at least part of their legendary appetite. If it wasn’t for the fact that my team of three wins a bit more than it loses these days, which brings my finances juuust barely into the black, I’d never be able to keep this up.
