ITT: how you were first introduced to Pokemon/early memories with the franchise

>be me, around late '99, early '00, born 1994
>mom takes me to Burger King every Friday because the chicken nuggets used to be better and I liked the tiny shitty play place they had
>get a few toys based on something called "Pokemon" through this and become familiar with the existence of Pokemon: The First Movie
>vividly remember buzzing in the days leading up to the movie's release on VHS and DVD, as commercials would count down the days
>don't remember if I even watched it, certainly didn't see it in theaters
>already own a Game Boy Color handed down by my dad once he got bored of Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and eventually learn enough about the franchise to know that games existed
>get Pokemon Red or Yellow as my first Pokemon game, not entirely sure which
>quickly become obsessed with the franchise, renting VHS tapes of the anime from the local library (unable to watch it on Kids WB at the time since the signal was so terrible at my home), quickly getting Red/Yellow (whichever one I didn't have) and later Blue purely to fill the collection (I barely played Blue at the time)
>get a Nintendo 64 with Pokemon Stadium packed in, get the TCG game, get Pinball
>being born in 1994, the primary boom of Pokemania passed me over (the '99-'01 era) as I was only entering first grade in 2001 and my fellow classmates were too young to care about the franchise much, we had barely missed it
>pray for months but eventually get Gold, later get Puzzle Challenge, Crystal and lastly Silver
>partially move to Mexico due to my mother's business starting there
>accidentally leave all my Game Boy collection including my coveted complete collection of Game Boy Pokemon games (I had all of them by this point and got Silver purely to complete this collection)
>fall into a complete panic and actually go to the bus stations trying to find it in a lost and found box that didn't exist
>my games were lost forever
