I did not like the concept of LGPE either at first.
I gave it a try, and it is OK for a spin off. (yea, I know: hurr durr, its no spin off its a mainline game.... see green text above).
Lets face it: It is a game for kids. This is the Coke light of Pokemon, but autists here try to sell it as Pepsi light. It is not! It is an Okay game. So Okay, that you can play it for 1-2 weeks and than carry on with your life. Same for hating it. No need to establish a cult for hating a fucking kids game until the end of eternity and make this your life purpose.
Only 2 good things LGPE offered:
1. It was fun and pretty casual. A nice turn to play Pokemon without concern about EV/IV and whatever.
2. Two weeks distraction while waiting for Gen 8.
tl;dr: LGPE was not good but still fun. "Reeeeeeeeeeeeeee"-tards get fucked!
