You want to bitch about the graphics by comparing them to illustrations when the illustrations are just drawings, they don't have anything more than that, they just exist to advertise the game without really taking the gameplay into consideration.
Now if you were asking for a completely new game that looked closer to the old art then you'd have an argument but it seems like people want a remake that not actually a remake.
