Problems:
>bad level curve, team was all level 25 when I beat Jasmine and got 6 badges>team rocket is a joke every time they appear>getting evolution stones is a pain in the ass for no good reason, I just traded over a leaf stone for my victreebel>forced to do stupid shit like fight ho-oh when I couldn't care less about it (lyra literally stops you when you try to go to pokemon league and says "Where do you think you're going?")>beating the champion who has a level 50 pokemon, unlocks an entire region of trash trainers whose pokemon level generally 38-45ish>all kanto gym leaders are more or less same difficulty, so the later 5-6 gym leaders you just completely roll over (not that the first couple are even hard to begin with)And since you brought up Red, that brings up another glaring flaw
>grinding xp for your pokemon is abhorrently slow, since all wild pokemon are super low leveled and there's no vs seekerI just traded over the Garchomp from platinum and set up on the pikachu with X items to sweep him.
All that said though, it wasn't bad by any stretch so you don't have to get your panties in a twist. It boils down to the fact that I would rather have a great 10 hours of playtime, than a just alright 20 hours of playtime. (those numbers are not exact, just made something up)
