RBY speedruns are neat because of how broken they are and how easy it is to manipulate RNG
Most other games are too random to make a good run but Pearl any% is cool as shit

There is not too much RNG in gen 1, except for 1/256 misses
after you get horn drill and you get past pokemon tower you are good until the league, where a crit can kill you
