I'm not one to trust just any movie, especially adaptations, but this is the second time i trust a game movie will be good (the first one being Warcraft, and i was right). Hope it's not a disappointment.

This. The problem is that all they do is slap on realistic textures without changing to designs to fit, so you end up with shit like >>37578559 where Charizard and Jigglypuff look nothing like a real creature other than in their texturing because they still have a freakishly large eyes, Jigglypuff retains its stubby arms and legs, and Charizard's entire proportions are just fucked in general.

If you want to make Pokemon look realistic, you have to do a whole lot more than just change their skin and fur.

pokemon are supposed to replace animals of the real world, they are even what people eat and has been stated plenty of times animals do not exists and the references were accidental. Why would the steak you eat look like a toy or a guy on a suit? For once the art direction makes sense and honestly it could have looked way worse
