Well, I mean if they decided to make Gen 8 be Kalos's Johto I can see them fixing it if they weren't crap about it. However, it's Game Freak we're talking about.

The only reason I'm suspicious about it is because of Melmetal's 3000 year disappearance which was the time AZ decided to nuke everyone during the Kalos war. Well, that and his Floette still getting work after Gen 6.

If I wanted difficulty as a means of entertainment, definitely the last thing I would play would be Pokémon, obviously there are many other aspects of the game that are very enjoyable

they’re just as difficult as past gens if not slightly more so. trainers are same level as you for most of the game with exp share off, elite four will be 10 levels above you and will beat your ass unless you grind heavily
