No, ok, lemme fill you in. GF in Gen 5 was at its peak. We all pirated gen 5, and normies complained they were too hard and cuz they couldn't Pikachu, which is bs tbph. GF, in response, began making things easier, and started loading things with handholdy overcasualization. Now, GF has been slightly incompetent, but now they're just plain lazy. It's not that they couldn't do it, only that they're too complacent to try.

Everyone understood that the simplistic top-down maps and chibi overworld sprites of old Game Boy RPGsexisted only due to technical limitations and weren't meant to be taken literally.

Or maybe you literally imagined your character in 20 meters square "cities" consisting in 5 houses facing south when playing Gen 1?

The Zelda team has already proven what they can do on the Switch with BOTW so nobody cares if they're doing a chibi remake as a side project. Gameplay wise, it doesn't look to be a regression from previous 2D Zeldas and won't influence future 3D Zelda games in any way. LGPE was the first thing Game Freak has put up on the Switch, is an obvious regression from previous titles and GF is making contradictory statements on how it will influence the future of the series.
