So this is my first time playing this game.
How many cutscenes are in this fucking game??? I'm like an hour into it and I've only had like 3 forced battles and I've barely gotten to explore the area. Plus every time I try to go somewhere, another fucking cutscene happens. Can I just play the fucking game????
please tell me it gets better ;_;

It gets better. Once you can start exploring Gateon Port and snagging shadow pokemon, the game doesn't have a lot of cutscenes aside from Cipher bosses

Are there random encounters or just trainer battles? Because right now, I'm not seeing where they would have random encounters for me to not steal Pokemon from people

Colosseum and XD's whole gimmick is that they only have trainer battles (which are all double battles), and all pokemon you can get have to be stolen and then "purified", giving you a quite limited selection, especially in Colosseum where most pokemon you can get are the gen 2 ones that aren't available in the gen 3 mainline games.

frankly, even though colosseum is the worse game gameplay wise, the beginning of XD is so slow comparatively that I find myself going back to colosseum more often. And they're already slow pokemon games, so the slow start only compounds the issue.

The whole gimmick of the Orre games is that you're strictly limited to snagging shadow Pokémon from other trainers; although Gale of Darkness does allow you to get wild Pokémon later on in the game.

The worst part is that, by the time you can start getting Pokemon besides Eevee and Teddiursa, those two Pokemon will be so overleveled that it's hard to get your new Pokemon up to speed.

That says a lot about how slow Gale of Darkness is, considering Gale of Darkness is a considerably shorter game than USUM. If a speedrun is only two hours faster than USUM, that's a really slow game.

Don't worry, the beginning part is gonna be a little sluggish. Gateon Port is where shit starts to pick up a little and once you're through with that small bit of exposition and you've taken care of everything there then you'll be smooth sailing in no time.

You can get wild Pokemon in this game but all of them are terrible expect for Zubat and maybe Wooper. You can trade a couple of the rarest ones for some decent Mons but honestly just use pokespot pokemon to help the purify chamber.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Look at its stats, now look at its level up movepool and tell me it even usable. GoD has double battles only meaning it has to stay in battle if you want to level it up (even if you use the Exp share). It's a goddamn joke, even Hopip not learning an offensive attack beyond Tackle until the 40s is better than this thing.

Flygon's Levitate and STAB Earthquakes with another Earthquaking partner are the best thing you can do in Gen 3 double battles.

Shame about it's lvl up set, you pretty much have to TM everything.

Trapinch is an absolute pain in the dick to level up with its trash stats and trash movepool. Its only good if you plan on beating all of Mt. Battle or the Orre Colosseum (and for the latter, there are much more efficient ways of obtaining a battle competent Flygon)

>Phanpy is pretty bad too, mostly because of its level up movepool. If you don't give it the Earthquake TM at Cipher, it learns Earthquake far too late to be useful for the main story, and there are plenty of contenders for that TM in the game.

Aron isn't good, but it's better than the former two at least.
