Magnemite is so horribly overpowered for a Pokemon you catch before the first trial that a LOT of shitters used it. Like, it has 95 special attack, a typing that resists most of what the computer can throw at you, one of the best attacking types in the game, and gen 7 gave it a whole bunch of new levelup moves.

I did have trouble facing Red and Blue until I brought out necrozma and swept their tems with him, so I guess he is pretty strong

I doubt anyone who played blind and had Exp. Share turned off and wasn't overleved was able to beat it on the first try, well, unless if you had some mon who resisted it. This shit can outspeed anything and beat most mons under lvl 50 with one hit.

My mons were mostly on late 40's/early 50's when I battled it. I always fight every single trainer and catch every single mon of the area, so I'm sure I was on the highest level possible without exp. share and grinding.

It makes keeping everyone leveled up easier. Wasting time grinding is not hard, so I don't think it makes the game too easy. The game is sadly too easy on its own. I play on set with no refresh bonuses or item use (should be the standard way to play anyways), avoid pretty much any grinding that isn't a trainer battle, and even by the time I was at the end I needed to avoid trainers to not be overleveled. I was around 55-56 for the elite 4, and I actually really enjoyed it. I had to redo kahili (she crit me) and I fucked up the champion battle by not going for aqua jet, wasn't sure if it would KO. That was my mistake and it felt good, felt like actual battles. Those are really the only fun battles in the game, because everyone else runs around with 2-3 Pokemon which is lame. They need to fix the trainers and AI or whatever, but the EXP share to me is fine

ITT: Necrozma is difficult if you're team is underleveled, never played pokemon before, only have slow and fragile pokemon, never use steel or dark types, and you autistically refuse to use any of the items that game provides for you

I went into that fight ~10 levels below Necrozma and my Timid Salazzle got outsped and oneshot. Like all the other mons in my team Feraligatr survived one hit but couldn't really do enough by itself. No concentrated EV investment yet cause why the fuck would you do that during the plot.
