Candy and Go-style catching is the worst part of these games, you can keep the overworld roaming over random battles, but battling to catch is a core mechanic and should never have been left out in the first place

Battling to catch is exactly what pokemon has always been about, even in the anime pokemon are either battled or befriended and rarely just "hurr durr throw balls until I caught it"

Gaining exp from catching and exp all is casual garbage and should be optional if not excluded from the games altogether

You hit a couple of points I came to the conclusion of just earlier. Backtracking through a couple areas looking for the hidden items was a real slog with things popping ini in front of me intentionally as far as I could tell. Never noticed when I was going through catching but the moment.

All these fucking faggots talking about "you just use Repel anyway, why not avoid them instead" being completey retarded because you're forced to use Repel anyway.

If you can afford them since I've thus far been unable to even get to 6 digits while actually keeping up on Poké Balls and shit.

People who defend the encounter and capture mechanics as being somehow better than just sticking on a Repel in a game where you can actually rebattle people and shit are either just shitposting or retarded.

The post above was stating that random encounters are worse than roaming spawns, the counter-argument is that roaming spawns roam out of their designated spawning locations where in the normal game mechanics they would be confined to patches of grass, ergo the random spawns suck because they can roam and obstruct you everywhere instead of having to deal with random encounters confined to specific areas

Nah, I think the intention was for GameFreak/Nintendo to release A Pokemon game on the Switch. It'd sell more Switch's and generate excitement for the console and series.

The games are likely in development already, with core features already in place. The next titles may use a similar engine as Let's Go, but I doubt they'll take everything apart just to add GO features.
