I play it competitively, I'd do the following:
>Change Field phase to play like Tekken/SC/other plane based 3d fighters, so more of the mechanics and systems and movesets can carry over from duel/2d phase. >Add an on screen UI indicator for the phase shift counter>Remove lit hit armor in burst. It's utter bullshit>Add more uses for meter, such as a combo breaker or EX specials>Make more moves unsafe on block, mainly CA'sThat being said, the game's already a damn good fighting game, one of the best.
As much as I hate to say it as a competitivefag, the game's real issue is it's lack of casual appeal, which has made the general pokemon community not give a shit about it. I'd like to appeal to the FGC more then the pokemon community, but I don't think the FGC will ever accept it just by virtue of it being pokemon even though it's a legit fighter, though altering the field phase to be like tekken will help.
I honestly don't know how to make it more appealing to casuals though without compromising it's competitive nature. Adding a fuck ton of characters will attract casuals/pokemon fans, but then you lose the tight roster balance and playstyle variety the game has. Maybe some sort of story mode a la the NRS games, with tons of cinematics? Minigames? I've got no idea.

>>37598471Congratulations anon, you, unlike 99% in these threads, actually play the game.
>>37598601Pokken already has near arc-sys level character variety though, without the full retard offense.
