>>37605721If this post is correct, then I think the most likely candidate is a Japanese/American romhacker who has a great understanding of Red and Green and enough prestige for him to want to remain anonymous. Also, it’s likely he’s a longtime fan of the franchise and has possibly even met up with some of the previous programmers, or at least has a knack for seeking out people with rare ROMs (if he didn’t get it from GameFreak himself, it probably went through several hands).

Of course, the fact remains that the reasons he hasn’t dumped it all yet is either because he want to make monetary gain or fame off of “releasing it,” or he fucked up and wiped the card by mistake. Former is more likely, but latter is a real possibility too.
