Hell, the only reason I still believe Spaceworld is real is because it makes Gen 4 make so much more sense in context. While there is now some doubt, it's still weighted in favor of real because it's hard to believe they thought of all of those little things while there's also evidence Game Freak does those little things. All over the place they're overthinking little details most people likely don't notice instead of bigger things that would really hook people.

In this case though... If they'd just dumped again it'd be reasonable to believe. But they didn't. They included fake shit to muddy the waters which just makes it feel more like they were using SW97 to gain notoriety for a ROM hack.

You know this is totally bullshit because in the first gen there weren't IVs nor EVs so unless you use proteins and shit your marowak will never evolve or will evolve always in one pokémon.

It's cool, anon. They worked a bit differently but were essentially the same idea. DVs ranged from 0 to 15 and determined a Pokemon's innate ability in a particular stat, and stat experience was, well, experience gained by stats depending on what Pokemon you fought against. Vitamins also gave their respective stat a certain amount of stat experience. The main difference was that stat experience could be maxed on every stat unlike EVs which have a total cap across all stats, and stat experience was calculated and applied at the end of every battle and not just upon level-up, if I recall correctly.

Back during late gen 2 and early gen 3, there was a big war among the community over whether the mechanic should be called DVs or IVs. "DVs" had been used for most of gen 1 and 2, and was still being used into gen 3. Late in gen 2, someone started calling it IVs instead. I have no idea how that ultimately got resolved into calling the gen 1 and 2 version of the mechanic "DVs" and calling the gen 3 version "IVs", but that's what happened. Really, giving them different names generally just creates confusion among people who only hear "there were no IVs in gen 1" and don't realize that DVs were the same thing with slightly different mechanics.

It annoys me a bit that the babby Cubone seems to be holding a bone like standard Cubone in the actual backsprite and that got completely ignored by the fake front sprite too (it doesn't seem to have the full skull either like the front sprite depicts; more like a smaller helmet thing or maybe it was meant to imply that's what's under Cubone's skull and what it grows into as Marowak). Unless I'm just stupid and wrong and that's something else.

That also seems to slightly go against "it's totally just a baby Kangaskhan" too, since it's not like that's typically depicted as holding a bone.

Yeah, I can see that too since it's pretty vague.

Unless you meant just the ones on top which are definitely claws. Because otherwise on the bottom it kind of looks like it's being held from underneath and a bone is overlapping the Marowak's right arm. Or they're just claws too.

Not really committed to anything here so much as I don't believe it's a Kangaskhan. I was going to complain about them forcing a pouch but I guess to play devil's advocate it could still have a pouch and be holding it protectively as well.

so this provrs the assets are either fake as well or were tampered with because there's no reason for there to be any extra shades of gray if they were assets extracted directly from the game even if it was screencapped with an emulator there should only be black, white, and two shades of gray

i just opened them with photoshop. there's just ONE color more, and that's a full solid row of pixels at the bottom of both images.
it could be here for a tons of a reasons, yet the images are 100% fitting in the 4 colors scale

It's just a sprite switch, you dont actually have to move around the whole "file" of venomoth and butterfree, just change the image like they have done for pokemon who looked different in the beta than they have on the final version.

That's from an old file of mine, I think I posted that on the RG restoration project discord before I joined HC. This basically shows that there's a Missingno every 32 spots at 0x1F, 0x3F, 0x5F and so on, suggesting that they deliberately formatted those to be blank for whatever reason. Of course two of those have cries so the theory was short-lived and didn't hold much water. And Kotora at 159 completely disproved it.
