WW/ROAR are anti priority tools the key of batton pass on switch is that switching overrides priority thus making BP come after the switch, if you know that Pokémon could potentially run phazing moves you don't bring gothitrap unless you are using a scared variant in wich case you get to cripple the phazer and get a potential free wallbreaker/predicted switch from your megadalamence hence winning the game in that turn.
Mega Gyarados and Gothitrap was a ludicrous core at the start, Mega Lopunny with wallbreakers+Gothitrap was a stupid way of breaking both bulky balance and HO at the same time since you get to fuck the double switching game of HO and remove balanced cores.
Hazing vs batton pass is useless if you are abusing batton pass to trap of wallbreaker, a batton pass into traptran or Gothitrap was enough to win the game on a single turn if your opponent had a defensive core+Landorus T as they would lose their only defensive answer to your offenses.
Finally taunt needs either priority or speed to stop this, most gothitraps ran scarf or relied on secondary wallbreaking like heatran wich would come fresh from BP or double switch making taunt useless.
Remember I'm not using BP to pass boosts, I'm using BP on slow bulky Pokémon or fast revenge killers/cleaners that force switches or eat a blow then switch a Pokémon fresh that reduces the possibility of being checked even if you switch out a counter.
It's not abusing baton pass stats, I'm abusing the nature of switching itself to reduce your entire ability to check me based on your team composition.
