Literally a line, no obstacles whatsoever.
Do you know what doesn't fit that description?
The Mirage Tower.
>Yeah, it's padding. There's nothing about it that wasn't already there in RS.There was nothing there in RS. There, the fossils were in the upper right corner of the desert in Route 111. You picked one while the other one was lost in moving sands forever.
That's all there is to it.
You have to be tremendously stupid to deny that the Mirage Tower is not more interesting than that.
>But you were forced to backtrack in the originalsNo you weren't. I play Ruby and Emerald at least once per year.
I never had to go back to Granite Cave after the events in Dewford Town, and that didn't private me from getting Aron, Makuhita or Sableye (Or Mawile in Ruby, which appeared in the Victory Road for Emerald) if I wanted to.
Something tells me you need to replay them, because you're clearly misremembering them.
>Your complaint is rather that it gives you more to find on your return visit, instead of having to return for one Pokemon and one tiny area. No, my complaint is that they ruined the first time you have to explore the place, and that they force you to backtrack in order to get pokémon that previously in RSE, you could have obtained on your first and (subjectively) only visit to Granite Cave, which as it was mentioned before in this thread, was far more interesting compared to the first visit in ORAS.
Do you remember what ORAS gives you on the first time you visit Granite Cave btw? A linear path.
Quite ironic considering what was discussed in this thread, if you ask me.
