Can we set some realistic expectations?

It’s not going to be BoTW: Pokemon Edition and it’s not going to have a real time fighting system and it sure as heck won’t have all 900-whatever ‘mons.

It’ll be a sliiiiightly nicer looking version of the same shit.

Cause that's the thing normies complain about the most. Normies hate turn based battle systems in 2019 because to them, it feels obsolete, like playing a text adventure. That's partially how we ended up with watered down trash like Skyrim.

FUCKING OR maybe just maybe it’s because Pokémon does jack shit with its turned based combat and has made zero meaningful improvements to it in over a decade.

No one is asking that they go make Tactics Ogre or Advance Wars or whatever, but at least SOMETHING to keep the player engaged would be nice. Like comboing to the music in Mother 3, or even just making it an ATB system. I mean, why not? I think the propensity some folks have toward asking for full-on real time fights comes not from a distaste for turn-based battles as a whole, but from a desire to overcorrect how dull Gamefreak designs them. Probably something along the lines of, “If Tales can do it, why not Pokémon?” Which, frankly, I don’t disagree with.

And for the record, I do appreciate all the stuff they do outside of combat, so I don’t want y’all bitching at me like I hate the games, because I don’t.
