He hasn't been involved in the development of a game since the early 2000s. Do you think he is depressed at Masuda for running his creation into the ground? Should he have followed his father's advice and became an engineer at TEPCO instead?

With the leagues being the main story focus even in Alola I'm not buying that
Plus Satoshi is the one who came with the concept with bug catching and fighting as a base and that's much less pretty than what we get nowadays

Tajiri wanted the series to end after the 2nd gen. Red was supposed to be the final battle in the game, a culimination of everything you learned in this epic battle.

Masuda and Shitendo were absolute fucking jews though. They low key threatened him into letting someone else take the helm of the series, while he was relegated to being an executing producer (essentially doing nothing) while getting a fat paycheck.

Money corrupted Tajiri into handing over the series. Simple as.

He's personally approved all game scripts since moving upstairs and given he's still at Game Freak as CEO, am pretty sure he's happy with the way the series is going, even if autists here aren't.

If I was in Tajiri's shoes I wouldn't care what garbage Masuda shit's out as long as I am getting a very fat paycheck as the series is a massive cashcow.

The fact that he hasn't involved himself in the development of a game in a very long time is telling. Keep pretending like GF is somehow exempt from the shit that plagues almost all of the gaming industry.

He's not very Toriyama-like at all, at least Toriyama still works on his series behind the scenes, just look at NuBroly, easily the best thing to come out of Dragon Ball since the end of the Cell saga, meanwhile Tajiri just collects royalty cheques and hides in his office while he lets GF fuck around with the franchise he built.
