Of course they don't do a damn thing in the actual franchise, the closest thing we have to evidence of how eggs are made are through Arceus itself since the event in HGSS is the only time we've ever seen an egg be formed, which can only lead one to assume Arceus is thus responsible for ALL eggs in the Pokemon franchise.
>lol the adults aren't telling you because you're a child, stop looking into things so deeplyThe kids running the Battle Resort Daycare in ORAS don't know either when you'd think they would be blabbering about it to any fellow child to finally solve the mystery, how eggs are made is a genuinely unknown process because it likely only happens when no one's looking so Arceus can spawn one in without causing alarm over its divine appearance.
This is also why Pokemon that should be able to produce offspring in the daycare can't do so, even though we've seen juveniles of their species in the anime (which is in fact connected to the game universe as of Gen 6 onward, albeit with alternate versions of the anime's universe), because Arceus isn't going to just nonchalantly let you acquire a legion of Legendaries or Mythicals even if you DID save the world/universe/multiverse.
