What cool gimmick sets have you guys found using the moves from gens 1and2? Slowbro gets a sleep/trap set transferring from gen 2

Crit slash is only slightly stronger than Return though, and weaker then Double-Edge. You're better off running Swords Dance/Return.

Finding ways to put Zap Cannon on things feels like an inspiration for this thread by itself- too obscure of a move to have been a TM.

One swords dance has higher damage output and takes two Intimidates to get removed

I played a romhack of emerald wherein pidgey has no guard as its standard ability, and pidgeot learned zap cannon via move tutor in that game. It was pretty broken.

I've used Z-Gravity Starmie with Zap Cannon, Curse Murkrow, and several things that learn Reflect as dual screeners, namely Zapdos, Slowbro, and Venusaur.

I'm not expecting this set to replace the SD one or for these sets to be the new meta, the discussion is about fun gimmicks we have access to due to the transfer from gens 1 and 2, how satisfying would it be to use telekinesis on a predicted switch then blast whatever came in with a perfect accurate zap Cannon/focus blast and get a surprise KO? Same with this set >>37614048 it's not going to define anything but it adds a layer of depth and allows more fun in non serious matches.

Knock off/earthquake
After a curse white herb restores the lost speed and activities unburden essentially giving you a bulk up and agility in 1 turn.
