I have plenty of desires for what Gen 8 will be, but I realized a long time ago to keep my expectations as low as possible. This will be GF's first real project on the Switch that isn't a remake. They are trying out a new engine. Expect this game to be like DP or XY, and not like BW or SM.

better model movement for the pokedex.
I use the pokedex as a reference when drawing mons and if we had excellent camera control in those alongside the hd graphics it'd be great.
I don't expect it to be a good game though so I'll probably just inject the mons I want to draw and jsut use the pokemon game as a reference tool

Companion Pokemon, but taking it a step further, making wild battles to be in real time.
You can order your following Pokemon to attack or defend following certain strategies such as "stall for time", "endure", "ignore", "use only ranged attacks", etc. (more or less like the Tales Of games), and you can attack and put traps to catch different types of Pokemon. Once they are immobilized or weakened enough, you can finish it with a Pokeball.
Basically implementing whatever they wanted to do with LGPE but in a non retarded way.

Give a "Champion" Difficulty you can choose at the start of the game. If you lose a battle you get given the option to go back to regular difficulty, but doing so locks you at regular difficulty for the rest of the game.
Make legendaries and pseudo-legendaries optional and not handouts. When you get them handed to you, it lessens the awe of them.
I'd like to go back to pixel art like gen 3,4 and 5 but that's not likely to happen ever.

I never implied turn based battles to be removed completely. Only wild battles should be on real time as nobody cares about them and they end up breaking the immersion on the environment the way they are currently made.
Important battles such as trainer and gym leader ones should still be turn based as people are more mentally prepared to have their immersion broken when approaching to a trainer.
