The reason why everything you listed sucks is because people think that Pokemon needs to be more """adult""", which usually just means more explicit violence, "thought-provoking" grey moralities, and religious overtones where Arceus is explicitly God and characters actually unironically invoke it with phrases like "oh my Arceus" and "Arceus be damned". In their attempts to make a kid-friendly series feel more mature, they come off as 13-year-olds that just discovered the internet for the first time and feel a need to validate their own adulthood. That, and all the shit about thinking that the series would work great as an open world MMO or some other kind of drastic genre overhaul is pretty awful.
