I feel like replaying Gen2 again, should i buy Crystal on the eShop or should i just play HG/SS again?

Feel like i'll probably have more fun with the remakes, but it also feels so tempting to buy the originals just for the nostalgia bomb i'll probably get.

Ultimately i'll probably end up just playing the remakes anyway, i'm just curious if anyone else here also bought the originals for nostalgia reasons and can tell me their experiences with it

If you play HGSS, you aren't replaying Gen II. They're Gen IV games.

I had the same problem last year. Changed my original Gold cartridge battery, but was felling really tempted to play Soul Silver with the pokewalker. Ended up going for SS, just because is fells bad to play Gameboy Color without light (but really nostalgic tho)

i bought crystal vc and ss on cartridge, finished them both with a complete dex and black card on soulsilver.

What are the major differences in the originals again statwise? Like i know that the physical/special split was based on move type and not on the move itself, but anything else i'm missing? I've heard something about EVs/IVs not existing/being different aswell

I want to play them again but i fear it'll feel too weird due to how different the game/battle mechanics used to be
