Ironically despite having done shit like read out my school's library in kindergarten, I never even cared about the characters etc. in their own world. I felt nothing for them.
It literally wasn't until Pokémon the First Movie released (I was nearly 12 at the time) that I attributed ANY emotion besides amusement and a general love of language to fictional settings.
