>>37619901So our entire foundation for believing this person is one (1) sprite that can be found by anybody digging deep enough (reminder, Helix Chamber are not the only people who dig for this information), and we don't even have any sort of log or proof to show that this exchange even happened to begin with? I'm not buying it.
>>37619918>What, you think he's faking it too?No, I think he's just been mislead, or is an idiot. I don't think there's anything in it for him (or any of them, really) if he lies. He's technically capable, but so are a lot of people who do stupid things and believe stupid lies.
>And I haven't seen that, only a bunch of 4chan forensics "geniuses" posting RGB values in Paint.Assuming you're referring to the oddities, the one that stands out most to me is the presence of Mew alongside beta mons and beta trainer sprites. I've heard a few people suggest that this is a build of japanese Blue (hence the "Blue Mew V1" sprite) that reimplemented old assets to test for size, but if that were the case, then either
A: old assets overwrote new assets, even when no old assets were present - in which case, why is mew there?
B: old assets didn't overwrite new assets if there aren't any - in which case, why are some of the gym leaders replaced with blank spaces?
I've heard a couple of other oddities, such as the layout of Missingno data in the final release going against the idea of a large amount of beta mons ever being implemented, but I recognise that I'm not the expert, and anything I've thought of has probably already been explained by somebody who knows better than me.
However, the awkward secrecy that fails to give us any concrete evidence that we can test for ourselves makes me extremely suspicious of this apparent leak, as the only reason we are believing this to begin with is because we are trusting random people to tell us an untwisted truth.
I should also note, I think it's far more likely that the anonymous source is the liar, not HC & co.
