Linoone had a great niche, and Furret was a bad start for a bad trip that was first route mons being only HM slaves (which only got worse after Bibarel). With Watchog I actually got angry because, even though I like its line, they didn't even gave it anything. Thae fact you could capture Lillipup in the same fucking road while it had way better movepool and stats from the very beginning was overwhelming. Diggersby had a nice touch with its HA ability, but god dammit it was too fucking shit even for ingame standarts. And don't even talk about Gumshoos had everything to be good if wasn't for its stat distribution (even though the whole Alola was slow, it still is one of the slowest of the slowest - and it only got worse with Rattata's and Buneary's addition).
I have no idea what they plan for the Gen 8, but I sincerely see no salvation. Not even Raticate was that bad in its generation. Alola was a good step in dex development since there weren't many overpowered mons and was well divided and gave chance for some early shitmons to shine even in the endgame with Z-moves. But I have no hope for the next ones with the introduction of even more overpowered mons.
