gen5 starters were the worst, either too slow or no moves
gen4 starters were useless since you had to pick the monkey and it's a twig. a fast twig but a twig nonetheless.
gen7 have some interesting ideas but this cat... how can the first stage be so well done while the last stage is so bad that the first thing I hacked into my save was an everstone ? the other two are nice but everyone is so slow, it hurts them.
gen2 were bland as fuck, it's been 20 years, I still can't like them
gen1 had their charm but I've seen them way too much
gen6 I really liked delphox and greninja, the stats, the typing and the movepool were good. a shame greninja isn't a fighting ninja and chesnaught a dark knight, it would have been fun but this works too.
gen3 is the only gen where I liked all the starters and if I had to pick only one starter for each type, sceptile is the only one I would take despite the split tearing it apart. I used blaziken in my first ruby run and swampert in omega, those were bros.
my favorite gen is 5 but those things are beyond salvation
