>>37625849Platinum is a great game but if we strictly talk about sequels and enhanced versions, objectively, it wasn't as expansive to diamond and pearl as emerald was to ruby and sapphire which reimplemented forever sprite animations, items were depicted in the bag, had the battle frontier/tents, minigames, allowed you to get both fossils and the previous mascots in a challenging way, a Red level champion battle with Steven, the first cohesive ludonarratively gym leader rematches, trainer rematches, a bigger Safari zone, Johto starters as a reward for the hard work of completing the regional dex and more. Those are the reasons why we love Emerald and despise ORAS even if you take away the nostalgia bias, because people decide to replay or travel through Hoenn for the first time with Emerald over RS and ORAS. HGSS are a sequel to FRLG and the only thing stoping them from being the ultimate experience (which it doesn't need to be) was sacrificing the Sevii Islands due to, I assume and knowing the director's philosophy, data limitations.
