I got 2 losses and 1 win my last lost was against someone playing the toxic spikes, spikes, stealth rock, whirlwind team, I was so close, I had his Creestella on the ropes just one attack would have finished it by my poor Raichu wasn't able to end it in that attack and died to poison. Probably, there's not much going on until gen 8. Then again they're doing these so at least the internationals get padded up and the ones aiming for some Championship Points don't end up fighting against the same 10 people.

Just play them. You can straight up forfeit if you want.

All that's required is appearing in the rankings so as long as you're not disconnecting a bunch to possibly get disqualified, you're good.

Shiny mythicals are very rare and only released on special occasions. Genesect was the last new one we got and that was for a movie. As for the SM box trio, if they do those it will likely be an IRL distribution rather than being given away so freely, like what they did for the XY trio.

Yes I've run into a few forfeits but people still mainly try to win, I got beat up by a Xernas, a Kyogre and a Palkia, everyone's using ubers

Considering some Mythicals like Volcanion have had their shinies show up in the TCG but have never been released in the games, yes. Look at how long it took for us to get shiny Celebi again, even with one being an actual character in one of the PMD games.

I wish Zeraora didn't have the checker on it Victini, Meloletta and Hoopa can get past the checker so I can trade those, even shiny totem pokemon can get past the checker but Zeraora? Nope. It's gotta be from Fula City, it's gotta be in a Cherish Ball and it's gotta have that damn ribbon on it, if it doesn't have those the checker flags it and if it does have those but it's shiny the checker knows it. What you do with your turns in VGC is extremely important since matches are so short, usually over within 8-10 turns. There are very few situations in which using an OHKO move is an optimal strategy, usually only viable when you literally have no other better option or your movepool sucks that bad (AV Lapras and Sheer Cold for example). It sucks when they actually hit against you but they're by no means broken or even viable most of the time.

I'm 8-2 so far but I've only played like 3 serious teams. My team isn't all that serious either but at least I have restricteds, unlike half of my opponents.

This is exactly why they should be banned, though. They're inherently uncompetitive in a way that goes way beyond Double Team.
Notice that while some people have a problem with Smogon's evasion ban, no one ever argues that OHKO moves should be legalized. The fact is that they're dogshit moves that are only useful in single-player, but when they hit, they turn the entire game around on a literal roll of the dice.

At its core Pokemon is a game of risk vs. reward and probability management. I'm more than happy to allow my opponent to choose a strategy that will result in one of their Pokemon leaving themselves completely defenseless 70% of the time, even if that means that 30% of the time that Pokemon is allowed to act I lose a Pokemon instead.

Got screwed over by a Double teaming Substituting Baton-passing Speed Boost Blaziken and a Belly Drum Azurill.

Yeah, a lot of people only play these for the entry gift. I like that it's technically getting new players interested in VGC though, even if very, very few of them are going to want to try.

I agree that they're not overpowered in the way that people who play Smogon but not VGC think; the reason Smogon bans them is more because it makes the game luck-based than because they're too powerful (as well as making stall all but impossible).

But I do think they have some potential in VGC which is under-explored. It's the same idea as when Swagger got huge during Gen 6 VGC. Swagger wasn't good because it was likely to be the best way to proceed in a game which was close, it was good because it gave you a small chance of getting out of a game you had no other way of winning.

I top cut a regional with a Sheer Cold Lapras a few years ago, but in all honesty I think it was a hindrance not because it was a waste of a moveslot, but because when I went on tilt I just mashed Sheer Cold even if other moves would have been better.

With the last one, the Lele code was released through the Global-Link website a few weeks after the tournament.

The legendary years of VGC are really harsh on newer players, they're so centralized that people who aren't either running Meta or directly counter-teaming Meta stand basically no chance.

That first one is definitely not meta. Entry hazards are a bit rubbish in VGC, because everybody runs so much hyper-offense that the damage from entry hazards, over the course of one game, is smaller than what one big attack would give.
