This is what people who think the SpaceWorld '97 Gold/Silver beta was faked actually believe happened
>person or group of people get together with the intention of making a fake prototype of Gold and Silver based on the tiny shred of information known about SpaceWorld 1997's demo
>none of them say so much as a peep about it at any point including 9 months after the fact
>undertake a project that requires an intimate knowledge of Game Boy hardware and programming, one which would most likely take well over a year even with supremely skilled programmers
>get or happen to have a designer on the team to create all the fake beta Pokemon
>create some designs based on eyewitness testimony of SpaceWorld 1997 and make a ton of original designs as well, carefully change the finalized Gen 2 designs enough to make them 'beta', decide which new Pokemon should and should not be included
>make new sprites for old Pokemon including brand new backsprites, but leave a solid half or more as their Blue sprites
>recreate the sprite used for Mew in the SW97 Mew distribution cartridge and include it
>decide to invent a wholly original Japan-based region, with only a couple of towns resembling final towns, making sure to include specific places seen in era-appropriate magazines
>decide to make Kanto one town in the larger Johto and make a strange confusing miniature sized version of the full Kanto map into one area
>make new beta-like trainer sprites, overworld sprites, including stuff like a moving Poliwhirl and a guy in a helmet, but don't put the helmeted guy on the actual overworld
>write scripts including a script for a short story sequence that isn't accessible in the demo but would have taken place in the same city
>decide that the original role for many of the Gen 1 characters would have been much different and do stuff like include Giovanni in the Radio Tower
