Deoxys discussion thread. This DNA virus came to earth on a meteor! What forme is your favorite? I always thought it was a shame that the base form was basically like Deoxys Attack-lite. It would have been cool if it was more balanced. It makes me wonder if the formes were an afterthought.

Speed form looks the most alien which is why I love it but Deoxys in general is really cool

More like the Normal form is just that, its default form

The spin-off media has it changing forms at will; i.e. it changes to Attack form when it needs more power, Defense form to defend, and Speed form to go fast

It's one of those Pokemon that'd held back by being in a turn-based RPG and needs other mediums to be able to shine

When FRLG came out I thought the new Deoxys formes were entirely new pokémon (#387 and #388 in the dex) because it seemed like a really weird pokémon and I wasn't too familiar with the concept of alt forms

It would have been cool to have an Aegislash style forme change for deoxys. It would have been a perfect mon for that kind of ability. Plus, gen 3 was all about abilities and the birth of formes with things like castform

I wonder if Deoxys will ever be roped into ultra beast lore, seeing as it is a totally alien Pokemon. I'm not sure if that will be a good thing or not.

The formes were locked to games in gen 3. Ruby and Sapphire got Normal, FireRed got Attack, LeafGreen got Defense, and Emerald got Speed. It was a marketing gimmick for formes; something that up until this point had only been seen in Unown.
