DR1 has aged poorly, although it was good for when it came out and being a jumpstart for how it manifested DR2. One of the best games of all time, story wise. I remember when I first played it I was blown away, and the times after that, same feeling. I sound like a faggot but I don’t care its good. It has such an athsophere, a real feeling of mystery that captures you and it makes you feel bad for what the characters go through, unlike DR1 which came off as forced towards the end. Hajime Hinata is the best protagnist in the games by far, he is sympathetic but not a pussy. Kaede was pretty good too but too bad, gotta kill her off post haste. And yes, that was a plot hole. I won’t say 2-3 was a good trial but it was miles better than any of the shitty v3 garbage trials.
Nagito is the main thing dragging down DR2. It’s obvious one of the writers had a huge boner for him and had to make him the most super special character in existence, they couldn’t just give him luck like Makoto he had to be a Mary Sue and have everything go however he, or rather the writers wanted things to. He was a plot device at best, a edgy meme character at worst . Oh what’s this, we need some random bullshit to happen and we can’t figure out a plausible reason for it to? Let’s shoehorn in Nagito, everyone loves him! While we’re at it let’s prolong his death, we need to milk this cash cow! They did so because his entire character, his purpose is for three sole things.
1. Filling Inconvenient plot elements
2. Material to inflate their egos with how many people like you fellate their shitty character.
3. Money.
That’s all. Oh, and DR3 was trash.
