I really liked that fake leak about Gen 8 having two regions (UK and Egypt), with each version of the game starting in one of them, and the gyms being based on the first 7 regions + the other version's region.

Actually, looking at the Egypt region, it could be a pretty cool area to explore:
>desert areas
>major river through the middle of the region
>fertile grassy valley areas
>giant seas to the north and east
>huge mythology to dig into for pokemon/lore/ideas

Reminder that the existence of an Egypt region would require Ohmori or whoever is the new director to go to real-life Egypt in order to get "inspiration" for the region.

So that's probably not happening this time.

Ask yourself, can the dev team safely take a vacation there without getting killed? If not, then it has no chance as a region. Egypt is having constant problems with people killing their tourists.
