The first time i played Pokemon Pearl my Chimchar was female, when asked if i wanted to give a nickname i chose one for some reason (first time i actually decided to nickname a pokemon) and i chose her name to be my crush's name at the time (filename). I literally only used her for battle, said goodnight when turning off the DS and complimented her when she won gym battles.
