Hard mode:The improvements have to take in account the GBA's limitations and have to make sense for a 2005 pokemon game so atk/sp atk wouldn't make sense

You already can get all gen 1/2 trading from Fire Red/Leaf Green + the expanded Safari in Emerald. No need to shove more Kanto 'mons in this beautiful region.

For me, it only needs Physical/Special split and Day/Night with time-based events all over the region.

Fiddle with the Gym leader rematches so that the player's made more aware of them and they aren't GSC Kanto-tier.

pretty obvious improvement that isn't something stupid like some of the other posts in this thread.

Add that guy that sells the wood thing for holes for secret bases permanently

You know, given how many Pokemon in gen 3 can't take advantage of their high physical attack with at least one of their STAB moves(Blaziken,Cacturne,Crawdaunt, Absol, Medicham,Breloom,Sharpedo Salamence, Metagross) I honestly think Gamefreak wanted to put in the physical/special split in Gen 3 but ran out of time.
