It's more or less a requirement for an arcade game to look as good and/or flashy as possible in order to grab a child's attention.
They're literally the same models as Gen 6 and Gen 7's, though, they're just scaled properly, have better animations, and have way better lighting, shading and texturing.

actually they aren't, you can tell ga-ole's models have a much higher poly count.

compare the green leaves on venusaur, the corners are much smoother on ga-ole's model.

Anon every game uses the same models. Go, Ga-Ole, the 3DS games, LGPE. They're all the same. It's just the textures, shading, and lightning playing tricks on you. The models have incredibly high polycounts for 3DS games being on par with PS3 games.
