Do you want Gen 8 to have Pokebank transfer compatibility, or leave it behind for a fresh start?

Keep in mind that the ability to transfer has no bearing on the populace of hacked Pokemon.

My opinion is that the bank should be left behind. I personally want a fresh start with access to all pokemon. Some pokemon would be event exclusive like in the past even though I hate that. Also, make the rarer pokemon much harder to get, if they were to include them all that is.

To be completely honest, the only thing that would make me drop Pokemon and never look back is lack of transfer features. It sets the games aside from others in the genre so losing that would just kill my interest.

I've never really given a shit about transferring and I honestly think the only time I've ever done it was from 3>4 as a kid. I just never really understood the appeal to be honest. If they had to cut compatibility again for a major mechanics overhaul like in gen 3 I'd be ecstatic, we're long overdue for a complete rework of IVs, EVs, natures, movepools etc.

It would be nice to have the option, of course, but at the same time, I would hope they not RELY on it, and have lots of Pokemon spread about the region and through events.

I guess I'd want it, as long as it doesn't supplement good mon distribution.

Yes, I do want Pokebank transfer compatibility. They should make Bank(and only Bank) require the online service, since it allows cloud saves, but also include an offline version of Bank that doesn't require the service.

I would only accept leaving everything behind if it was possible to capture each and every Pokemon in game without transfer from previous generations. Given the fact that we have a large number of Pokemon now, that's a bit of a tall order.

That would depend on GF keeping the same PKM file structure that's been used since Gen 3, if they abandoned it and made a new one from scratch then it take a VERY long time for hacking to get of the ground (even more so if the files are encrypted).

Game Freak already said back at the start of XY pokebank was a way to keep your Pokemon around for even your grandkids, it's not going away. Even if Nintendo shuts down online on the 3DS they will probably release an app into the system firmware that lets you locally transfer to gen 8.

Yes, I want to be able to transfer my old Pokemon to gen VIII. I would drop this series entirely if they pulled another RSE. Especially given that they managed to find a solution for transferring from gen I and II VC to gen VII. Overhauling mechanics just won't be a valid excuse anymore.
