Genesis - origin (blueprint such as DNA)
Mew's Z-Move is known as Genesis Supernova in English (albeit Japanese name is Origins Supernova). Mew attacks with psychic energy shaped like a double helix. Basically Alter Genesis is changing your Pokemon's DNA, so we may have some more control over our Pokemon now compared in the past. Mega Evolution tapped into that temporarily, and it only awakened the hidden, already existing DNA in Pokemon. Regional variants are a byproduct of certain genes turning on and off in response to the environment. The DNA itself wasn't altered; the genes' appearance were. Then we have Pokemon fusions such as the Kyurem and Necrozma forms. It would make *some* sense if the new mechanic expanded on these ideas and actually gave us much more control over how Pokemon function in battle.
If this is real and is connected with the video games, at least AG should be relevant to Mewtwo. Hopefully it isn't a Mewtwo-exclusive mechanic.
