It’s really nothing special. It’s just Gen 1 again. In terms of just plowing through the game it is honestly very nice to avoid wild encounters without repel, and I do actually enjoy regular Pokemon GO so the catching game is kinda relaxing. Catching is not intuitive though, it’s just timing a circle.
Following Pokemon is nice, but does not service the gameplay. I admit I gave the game brownie points because Bellsprout is my favorite Gen 1 Pokemon and they put it in Route 1, but that’s more specific to my taste. I guess if you like Pokemon GO and you have a favorite Gen 1 Pokemon you’ll get mileage out of it. The game is easy, so you can play with most any NFE Pokemon and be mostly fine. Don’t expect anything more though.
