In the near future, there are actually going to be tough parents encouraging, coaching, and forcing their kids into gaming as a career choice. Shit's weird in a good sort of way.
I think Pokemon is in a similar situation. Over time, it has earned enough respect and familiarity that no one's going to bat an eye if, say, a thirty-year-old adult casually plays a Pokemon game (like Go) or two every now and then. Just look at how many 40/50+ comic book enthusiasts there are who probably grew up during a time when comics were probably, mostly a kids thing.
However, can't be too sure if we're to the point where Pokemon fanaticism is totally accepted yet. Overdo it and some people might think you're weird or a pedo or something, especially if you're caught browsing normie-unfriendly shit like /vp/ on a regular basis. Therefore, it's probably safer to just continue hiding your power level around normfolk.
