And that's why I said they skipped the water until USUM. USUM added the surfing minigame, even though it's still not much.

They already ruined that trend with Mega Evolutions, plus most of those gen 4 evos weren't better looking. Not sure they'd add more mega evolutions either though.

Unova had a linear route structure due to being story heavy but it more than made up for it by having expansive routes full of interesting gimmicks + seasons, giving you a reason to go back to each area.

Does it better than sun and moon do anyway, with a bunch of interconnecting routes that loop back around to each other but you can't branch out at all because "the game doesn't want you to"

I've been predicting Gen8 to be Iceland a while now. If it were a 3DS game, I would strongly bet on it.

But being a Switch game I think GF will surprise us with something that no one predicted. Something Piranha Plant for Smash level. It won't be a simple a "oh, here's a new region, based on place X", like always been. A strong break on the pattern.

i really just think of Canada and Russia mainly. because theyre not ENTIRELY cold but have areas like that, but ALSO have less cold ones. like sinnoh still has the battle area/resort area thats pretty warm.
making a whole region entirely cold is a bit much imo. too plain
