So they won't see the things they're supposed to? So the camera can clip through random objects? So the player will experience hell because the constantly changing camera angle also constantly fucks up moving in straight lines? So that the player will never be able to see where they're about to step because the player character will always cover the view directly in front of them?
A freeform camera is something you do if no design goes into the visuals and readability of your game world.
