Anyone else get XY vibes from S&S?

I don't just mean Europe, but in that it feels like am imperfect first work on umfamiliar hardware.

It does look fun, I even like the graphics because maybe we can get 60fps in double battles.

But I really expect Gen 9 to drastically upgrade like the upgrade from XY to SM.
